Where do I begin? Do I address this blogs previous content and what it has to do with the current direction of my blog and other projects? The intent of this blog has ALWAYS been to be a place that I could work through the things that occupy my mind and that has not changed. The prevalent theme in most of my past post have been about my mental health struggles and how they affect my life. One of the key components of this has been stumbling through learning to live without my best friend after losing him to his own battles with mental illness. If any of you have had a chance to watch the first season of the new TV show "a million little things" you can possibly imagine how the story arcs of these remarkably relate-able characters hit me straight in the feels. Many episodes left me weeping and drained, but also inspired. Inspired to return to this blog and refocus and expand.
I have always wanted to turn this into something more interactive. Like the blog's title says, I'm looking for conversations. Being a fan of podcasts, I thought why not expand to include a podcast where I can talk about anything, everything or nothing at all. Of course there would be guests (eventually) so we could talk about various topics but with a regular mental health segment to address the many aspects of this often stigmatized subject. I am still working out the details and will be sharing that once it has been finalized. One of the things that I struggle with the most with my own mental health is that I tend to get all of these "great ideas" when I am manic and it takes off into 50 million directions. I am doing my best to try to use this as a way to focus my creative needs and funnel all these ideas into something I can bring to fruition. I am always looking for any input from those of you who support my blog by visiting. Please feel free to comment or shoot me an email. I will also be looking for people who would be willing to share their own stories either through a guest blog or being a guest on a podcast. If that's something you are interested in, please go to the Contact Epiphany page and fill out the contact form. Thank you again to all of you for continuing to support me. I hope you will continue to join me for our conversations and that you will take part in one if the feeling hits you. Feel free to also follow me on social media (links on Contact Epiphany) for more content and announcements. I aspire to help remove some of the stigma of mental health by being a safe place for open discussion and support. I look forward to taking this journey with all of you. p.l.e. epiphany ~May you hear symphonies where there are only wind chimes. |
