Today has just been one of those days. Nothing bad happened...unless you count having to walk 2 miles in the blistering ass heat today as bad.... And who should we see just as we get to our destination? (we being myself and my husband) My husband's ex girlfriend who on numerous occasions has tried to get him to "talk" to her. It seems like at least once every month or so we run into her out in public and it is always the most ridiculous encounter. She will go out of her way to try to get his attention, despite her boyfriend standing right there. I do not in ANY way feel threatened by her. I have a happy marriage. We have been together going on 11 years now and will celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary on Halloween. I just find it sad. Sad that after all of these years she is still hopelessly infatuated with the 19 year old she knew way back then. She knows nothing about who he is now or what kind of person he is, which nowhere is this more apparent than in her attempts to lead him astray. If she knew the man he has become, knew anything at all about what real love looks like and what real love means...she would know that that ship had sailed long long ago. I'm thankful on a daily basis for finding my best friend and having the privilege of being his wife. It is starting to storm here so I have to cut this short, but may you hear symphonies where there are only wind chimes. ~epiphany |
